Billings

Billings is the largest city located in Montana United States. The city is located in the south central position of the state. The city is highly developed in last few years. At present the city holds a total population of 89,847. In terms of its population the city is considered as the largest metropolitan area in Montana. It is popularly called as the magic city. The reason behind being called so is its rapid growth from its founding as a railroad town in the year 1882.

The city has been named after Frederick H.Billings president of the north pacific railroad. The city also serves as the busy shopping and accommodation center for the local residents and travelers.

The climatic condition of billings is favorable during summers the temperature rises unto the level of 100 degrees Fahrenheit while during the winter the temperature lowers down below zero. The snowfall averages about 57 inches per year. The autumn seasons in billings usually come early. In terms of geography Billings has one of the largest trade areas in the United States serving above 350,000 people.

The Billings Logan International Airport is located northwest side of the downtown billings and is a busy airport offering continuous services to different countries and states. The medical facility in the city is also quiet well. The city has two level 2 trauma hospitals including the St. Vincent Healthcare and the Billings Clinic. Not only the hospitals are in good condition but also the medical facilities provided in the city are also outstanding. The education system of the Billings is also very developed. School District 2 operates 21 elementary schools, four middle schools, three public high schools. There are many Career Centers operating in the city such as the Freshmen Academy located on the MSU College of Technology Campus.
