Great Falls

The Great Falls is one of famous cities of Montana which is located in the Cascade County, Montana, United States. Great Falls is the county seat of the cascade county and is one of important cities of the 'Great Falls, Montana Metropolitan Statistical Area'. According to the 2000 census report of United States, Great Falls holds a total population of about 56,690. The Great Falls city of United States is famous for having the world's shortest river flowing nearby the Roe River. The Montana state university is also located in Great Falls. the Great Falls college of technology, the Montana school for deaf and blind and even the white Sox minor league baseball team all are located in Montana. The city is located along the Missouri River near the waterfalls of Missouri. Based on the report of United States Census Bureau the city of Montana has a total area of about 51.6km. The Great Falls was found in the year 1883 by Paris Gibson and James J. Hill. In the beginning the city began as a planned power city. In 1884 the Great Falls post office was recognized by the United States postal services. The city got enough hydro electric power due to the construction of the Black Eagle dam that supplied the city with abundant hydroelectric power. After its establishment the city in no time became a prosperous business and industrial center. Another reason behind its prosperity of the city was the opening of a military base nearby.



Great Falls comprises the famous Malmstrom Air Force Base. The city is also home to the 889th army reserve unit. Many famous sports clubs are also located in Great Falls including the Great Falls Explorers, Great Falls White Sox and Great Falls Galdiators.
