Miles City

The Miles City is located in the Custer county of Montana, United States. The city is the county seat of the Custer County. The Miles City, according to the census report brought out by the United States census bureau, the city comprises a total area of about 8.5km which is all land. According to the census report of 2000 there were about 8,487 people the population density in the city was like 1,002.1/km.

The miles city is highly developed since 1985 there is a HVDC back to back station located in the miles city. This station was built by using the general electric and it can transfer about 200 megawatts of maximum power. There are many small and big schools also located in the city. The Custer county district high school is the only high school located in Entire County. The school is visited by students from far off places. This city has only four elementary level schools including the Lincoln, Highland Park, Jefferson, and Garfield, Washington School and there is also a middle school. These schools apart from imparting education to their students also introduce different extra curriculum activities including sports, builder's club and the student council. Much of the population of Miles City is dependent on agriculture hence the farmers organization of America is quite active in the city.



In the year 1876 the US military created many forts in the Miles city just after the battle of Little Bighorn. The Native Americans were the first inhabitants here. The Miles city faced rapid growth in different fields especially during the 1920s and 930s but its progress was hindered with the growth of the town of Billings.
