Early explorers to this part of the world used to transport goods from Benton to Canada. Their followed path is known as the Old Forts Trail. The Old North Trail , however, is one of the oldest trails known in the history of mankind. The Blackfeet tribe themselves referred to it as the Old North Trail. This path helped them to commute from their northern hunting grounds to their southern winter shelters. Nez Perce Trail follows a long route extending up to 40 miles from Oregon to Idaho. Along the Whoop up Trail treaded the dons and illegal whiskey transporters. They traveled across the USA and Canada border. Later on however the trail got the green signal from the government to be used as a legal way for export and import business.
