Kootenai River

Kootenai River is a beautiful mountain river near Libby, Montana. The river region is a great blue ribbon trout fishing area. Kootenai river originated from Kootenay National Park in British Colombia’ s Canada. The river flows miles across northwest Montana through Libby and Troy towns. The river meanders through northern Idaho, Kotenay Lake and finally joins the Colombia River. Kootenai River is the second largest tributary to the Combia River. The waterfall was featured in the 1993 movie “ River Wild”. The waterfall can be visited by a walkway from the parking region near the highway.

Lake Koocanusa offers great boating, rowing and fishing opportunities. Kootenai National Forest has scenic hiking trails and campsites for hunting animals like moose, bear, mountain sheep, turkey, elk and deer. The downhill ski region offers spectacukar skiing and snowmobiling options.
