A sub range of the Rocky Mountains, Absaroka Range lies on the eastern part of Rocky Mountains expanding across the Montana-Wyoming border forming the eastern border of Yellowstone National Park. The mountain range begins at northern boundary of Yellowstone NP and extends miles across in the north. Francs Peak is the highest range of the mountain.
Paradise Valley is a charming valley in the west of Absaroka Range is a natural scenic spot. With lots of greeneries, alpine meadows, lakes and rivers Paradise Valley is home to many wild animals and birds. There are wonderful walking trails in the valley. Wild animals like moose, deer, mountain goats, mule, bighorn sheep, wolves and American bear roam around.

Emerald Lake Campground located in the Emarald Lake, Absaroka Range is a popular camping hot spot. Adjacent to the Greycliff Prairie Dog Town State Park, Emerald Lake Campground offers great hiking trails amidst picturesque scenic views. Experience hiking along the Lost Lake Trail and Copeland Lake Trail. The Chicken Creek and Stillwater River offer variety of entertainment options. The Crazy Mountain Trail offers great hiking and skiing opportunities. During the summertime the Rosebud Creek becomes the hub of fishing, paddling, canoeing, boating and white water river rafting. Red Lodge Mountain offers magnificent skiing opportunity.
Woodbine campground is another favorite campground of Absaroka Range, Montana. The campground offers excellent opportunities for hiking on the Black Butte Trail, Pilot Creek Trail, Lodgepole Trail and the Republic Trail. The whitewater of river Stillwater facilitates great canoeing, rowing, paddling, boating and white water rafting. Recreations abound in the surrounding Greycliff Prairie Dog Town State Park.
